Diving Deep in December

For the last week of school our class Moana 2 is doing this thing called Diving Deep in December. This is where we look at people in poverty and donate our unused stuff to them so they can enjoy Christmas. My friend Joshua and I have done a rap about Poverty and how we need to help them.
Here it is and the tasks we have to complete...

Ireland Cultre Club

In class we have been researching about different countries. My friend Felix and I chose to do Ireland. Each country dressed up in their national costume and brought their national food. I brought potato pancakes and Felix brought apple cake. That day was AMAZING! Here is our research....

Turanganui Maori Cultural Schools Festival 2018

On the 21st November our school attended the Turanganui Maori Cultural Schools festival. We practiced every Monday and Wednesday for this event. The juniors of our school performed before us so we watched them do there Kapa Haka and then we got ready for ours. The front row of boys, including me and Kaia, had to wear nothing but a pui pui and undies. I would like to say we did well but see what you think with some photos and a video. But overall I had lots of fun.

Slowly Unzipping the Bag Quickwrite

Slowly unzipping the bag I thought about what would be inside I opened it and inside was a big bag of M&Ms. I don't know who left them there but I didn't care I just opened them and slowly chomped away at each one. But they weren't regular M&Ms they were rainbow but still tasted the same. When I showed my sister the bag she stole it from me and hid in her room eating them. So I did what any normal person would and got the F.B.I and they shouted “F.B.I OPEN UP!” Then Summer said “sure you got the F.B.I.” They broke down her door and pointed a plastic glock 18 at her head and she gave me the rainbow M&Ms and we all lived happily ever after.

My Chapter Chat Drawing!

Hi there again. In this post I will be showing you what me and my friend Obe did for Chapter Chat this week. we had the choice out of draw an indian write a story about one of the events in the book or vocabulary. Obe and I chose to do the indian drawing.  We did the drawing on google drawings. I found drawing the feathers on the head the hardest things to do. I learned that if you spend alot of time into something you can get it done and it looks amazing.

Toy Drive for Planet Sunshine!

Welcome back to my blog! Our school term focus is actions speak louder than words. In our class we work in a group of 4-6 and we each have an action focus. Our action focus is the 'Toy Drive' for Planet Sunshine. My friend and I made posters to put up around the school asking for any old toys. We are also creating a google slideshow to show in our school assembly. Here is a photo of the poster.

Action Stations Day!

On Tuesday last week we had our Wainui Beach School action stations day! In the morning we went down to the beach with our buddy class, Room 6 and did a massive beach clean up in a 100x100 metre squared area. The amount of rubbish we found was shocking. We found all sorts of rubbish like styrofoam, a lot of plastic surprisingly we found three honeycombs. We also found metal cans, cloth and some microplastics. then we sorted the rubbish into different bins. Then we walked down to the hamanatua stream. and had lunch. we did a smaller clean up down there at the beach while we had fun playing in the sand.

Kawa Of Care

Kawa Of Care is teaching us about how we use and look after our computers and, not share any personal information like a password. For an example not as many people have been carrying there chromebook with one hand and the lid open and, everyone has been sitting at a table with a chair while on their chromebook. Kids in Moana have been looking after their chromebooks differently they have been looking after it better and washing their hand before using it. Everyone in Moana made a poster either with a buddy or independently. I made my poster with Felix and I would say it turned a out alright because it shows people how to carry and work on their chromebooks!

THE TIMETABLE!

Learner Hub Link
Welcome back to my blog.
I find the new digital timetable very handy. We get to choose what workshop we want to do. Matua Fergus and Koka Ngaire will both do more than one workshop a day. The way it works is the teachers will send us a form and then we know which one we go to. The timetable is where we get to fill in the empty boxes with subjects from the learner hub and when its the correct time to swap we check the timetable to see what we do next. also we do it from Monday to Thursday because Friday is a homeroom day. Oh and by the way the learner hub is our class website, it's got our timetable link on it and the activities.

The way we pick our workshops is if we don't know how to do the activity that says we will go to that workshop to learn it. Each thirty minutes we will switch to our next subject on our timetable. Also the teachers will not tell us when our workshops are, its just up to us to go to them. Some subjects in our timetable are quick write, inquiry and read to self. A quick write is a short piece of writing we complete in 10-15 minutes and our minimum in the quick write is 5 sentences. In inquiry we can either write a report, do some research about pretty much anything or design something. Oh and read to self is where we just read to self in our head. Over all the timetable is very useful and easy to use.
This is the timetable.
As you can see its has the times down the side of it and my name and workshops down the other side
This is the timetable clock that we click to go onto the timetable.
